SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

Celebrities dressed in outlandish costumes belting out songs, with a panel trying to guess who’s underneath? Bonkers yes, but what started out as a kooky South Korean talent contest has taken over the world. This current British series is the second after last year’s was a surprise hit. The celebrities – not just professional singers but sports stars, comedians and actors too – perform in gigantic cartoon and animal costumes, and the panel try to guess who they are. Pre-recorded interviews with the stars’ voices distorted and as many red herrings as clues throw them off the scent. One act is eliminated in a sing-off each week (sometimes it’s two), and only then do they reveal their identity. Tonight, Badger, Robin and Sausage will compete for this year’s crown.
