DAVINA’S THE PANEL’S MISS MARPLE

Trying to guess who’s behind the masks are Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Davina Mccall and comedian Mo Gilligan. ‘They each have very different techniques,’ says host Joel Dommett. ‘You only need to look at their notebooks. Davina is like Miss Marple and writes hundreds of names and clues down, all connected with arrows. Rita writes a few names down, then goes through her phone contacts because she knows everybody. Jonathan draws the characters like a comic book, while Mo writes down just one name.’ Comic moments have included Blob’s minder falling off stage. ‘He lost his footing, fell off and split his trousers,’ says Joel. ‘Once I knew he was OK I burst out laughing. ‘But the level of secrecy is huge. Me and the panellists have dressing rooms on one side of the studio and the characters are on the other, so it’s impossible to pass them in the corridor.’ All the panellists have bonded, he says. ‘Jonathan and Rita are great mates, but everyone finds everyone funny. Jonathan and Davina have become like your TV mum and dad. I can’t believe I’ve got both their numbers. It’s the dream job for me.’
