NEW! ANIMALS ON THE LOOSE: A YOU VS WILD MOVIE ★★★★ ‘Be quick, the lion’s coming!’ Interactive extravaganza with Bear Grylls, in which he asks us to make decisions to save missing animals – and him – from outdoor perils at an animal sanctuary in South Africa. From Tuesday. NEW! THE CREW (Season 1) ★★★ Mainstream US sitcom set inside a Nascar garage, where millennials and grease veterans (including The King Of Queens’ Kevin James) butt heads. From Monday. NEW! THE BIG DAY (Season 1) ★★★ Uplifting new real-life series that takes us inside the world of super-glamorous Indian weddings. From tomorrow. MOVIE NEWS OF THE WORLD (2021) 12 ♦ ★★★★ Tom Hanks is a lonely moral voice in the brutal post-civil War US in Paul Greengrass’s western.

He plays an ex-soldier who goes from town to town, reading the news and scraping by, until he is landed with the care of a small girl (a Golden Globe-nominated Helena Zengel) and begins an epic journey. A gritty, nuanced story unfolds from there, one that’s best enjoyed with a roaring fire in the hearth.

MOVIE BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (2018) 12 ♦ ★★★★ Rami Malek gives a soaring performance as Freddie Mercury in a Queen biopic that took liberties with history, but is still a joyful ride. From Friday. DRAMA THE NEW PROFESSIONALS (All 13 episodes) ★★ Edward Woodward heads the cast of this scrappy update of The Professionals, which was first shown on Sky One in 1999. A curiosity piece. MOVIE I CARE A LOT (2020) 15 ♦ ★★★★ Vulnerable, well-off older people are a resource to be exploited in this darkly comic US thriller, and professional legal guardian Marla Grayson (an ice-cool and Golden Globenominated Rosamund Pike, left) does her best to do just that. Marla is ripe for a take-down and, when you see that her next quarry is played by acting powerhouse Dianne Wiest, it doesn’t feel far off in a cleverly scripted film that’s careful not to show its full hand until the end. From Friday.

MOVIE BAD BOYS (1995) 18 ▲ ★★★★ The bracing original outing for Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s detective duo, which remains head and shoulders above its two sequels. From Thursday.

SKY / NOW TV

DRAMA BOARDWALK EMPIRE (All five seasons) ★★★★ Slow but exceedingly well-dressed, this Prohibition-era drama from Sopranos writer Terence Winter stars Steve Buscemi as a kingpin of crime and politics. Season three, in which Bobby Cannavale plays his deluded nemesis, is one of the best.

COMEDY YONDERLAND (All three seasons) ★★★★ Sky’s funny series follows a bored mum into a fantasy land filled with puppets need of mothering. It comes from the stars of Horrible Histories and Ghosts.

DISNEY+

NEW! THE MUPPET SHOW (All five seasons) ★★★★

It’s hard to beat the anarchic charm of this original variety showcase for Kermit, Miss Piggy and friends. Enjoy all 120 episodes here with some terrific guests, including Peter Ustinov, Bruce Forsyth, Twiggy and Raquel Welch. FLORA & ULYSSES

MOVIE (2021) PG ● ★★★ Ulysses is a superhero squirrel who makes friends with a small girl (Flora) in this wackily enjoyable adventure based on Kate Dicamillo’s book. Both from Friday.

BEST OF THE REST

NEW! FOR ALL MANKIND

(Apple TV+) ★★★★ The return of this impressively mounted Nasa drama set in an alternate world in which the Soviets beat the Americans to the moon. Season two opens with wonder for the astronauts on the lunar surface, and tension for Ed (Joel Kinnaman, left) on Earth. Anew episode arrives every Friday. THE CIRCUIT

NEW! (Acorn TV) ★★★ A city lawyer with Aboriginal roots starts work in rural Australia for this punchy new legal drama, which has a nice ear for music. From Monday.

PAY MOVIES

ANTI-LIFE (2020) 15 ♦ (Sky Store, Virgin) ★★ Sub-aliens action set on a spaceship fleeing a plague-ridden Earth for a new world, with Bruce Willis as one of the crew who must fight an invading enemy. It looks cheap, but the cast try their best. SCHOOL’S OUT FOREVER

(2021) 15 ♦ (Sky Store, Virgin) ★★★ A pandemic brings on the apocalypse (again! see above) in this lean British thriller, and a 15-year-old makes his stand at school. Alex Macqueen, Samantha Bond and Anthony Head are among the adult cast. Both from Monday.
