BRITAIN’S FASCIST THREAD
11AM, RADIO 4 HHH
The British Union of Fascists held a rally at Olympia in June of 1934, attended by more than 10,000 people. The Blackshirts were out in force, launching attacks on anti-fascist demonstrators. Until then, British Fascists had gained followers and political traction, but this rally turned public feeling against them. Camilla Schofield begins her three-part account of Fascism in Britain with a look at this event.
