David Tennant delivers a chillingly calm performance as Dennis Nilsen, the Muswell Hill Murderer (left), in one of ITV’S finest true-crime dramas – and they’ve done a lot over the years. Jason Watkins co-stars as Nilsen’s understandably unsettled biographer, with Daniel Mays as the investigating officer in a repeat that continues nightly.
