DOCUMENTAR­Y BLITZ SPIRIT WITH LUCY WORSLEY BBC IPLAYER ★★★★

The historian goes beyond the wartime propaganda slogans to reveal what it was really like to live under the constant threat of attack on the home front during the Second World War. Worsley uses the letters and diaries of six real people to help to bring the time very effectivel­y to life.

GAME SHOW GORDON RAMSAY’S BANK BALANCE BBC IPLAYER ★★★★

For Ramsay’s new primetime game show, pairs of contestant­s must answer questions to stack weighted bars on to a tilting board and, if they don’t manage to maintain the balance, the jackpot of up to £100,000 will be lost. As host, Ramsay largely keeps his famously fiery on-screen persona in check.
