DAD’S ARMY: SECRET LIVES & SCANDAL 9.30PM, CH5

★★★★ We know them as a ragtag platoon of lovable Home Guard amateurs, but, as this one-off documentary reveals, the actors behind the muchloved screen characters have personal stories filled with drama, heroism and tragedy. Through interviews with surviving cast members, as well as their wives, children and friends, we learn what made Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier, Clive Dunn and the rest (right) tick. From rags to riches to real-life service in the Second World War, they were anything but ‘stupid boys’.

MATT BAKER: OUR FARM IN THE DALES 7PM, CH4

★★★ For the final visit to the Baker family farm in the Durham hills, there’s time to reflect on what they’ve put in over an incredibly busy year – and it’s not over yet. In the ancient hay meadows, the newly installed bees are a hive of activity, and Matt begins the preparations for a busy lambing season.

BILLY MONGER: CHANGING GEAR

8PM, CH4 ★★★★ Racing driver and presenter Billy immerses himself in the world of the Paralympics, ahead of the start of the games on Tuesday. Billy lost his legs in a racetrack crash in 2017, and will be fitted with his first pair of running blades. He finds out what it’s like to train with sprinter Jonnie Peacock, swimmer Alice Tai and more.

CASUALTY 9.25PM, BBC1

★★★ Ethan is still talking to his dead brother as he struggles to manage his grief and cope with going back to work at the ED while raising baby Bodhi alone. Tina, meanwhile, grows increasingly volatile and controlling, and Jacob’s reaction to her jealousy and paranoia may not be the best move.
