Phyllis Logan is the narrator for this ten-part adaptation of James Robertson’s mysterious novel.

She produced propaganda films of high quality that went down well with Hitler. She then turned her attention to America, where, on a promotional tour, she was described by the press as ‘pretty as a swastika’; she was also snubbed by Hollywood and insulted by Marlene Dietrich. Elinor Coleman plays Leni and Gwendoline Christie is Marlene in this drama of driving ambition, obsession and arrogance.
