The Earth moves round the sun twice this evening in a concert that brings us Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, followed by Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons Of Buenos Aires. Joshua Bell directs the Academy of St Martin In The Fields, starting with the sounds of birdsong and joy from Vivaldi’s musical account of spring, through to the silvery, icy sounds of winter. Then, we go to the southern hemisphere, where the four seasons have a different sound that’s marked by the rhythms of the tango.

Sea, and gives us a live version of the album’s title track.
