‘Turn everything you hear to your own advantage. Always carry a repair outfit. Take left turns as much as possible.’ Flann O’brien’s The Third Policeman is a mad ride through the English language, on a bike with a mind of its own. The book is a comic crime novel, and a story of unrequited love between a man and his bicycle. The wild, brilliant prose is best enjoyed read aloud, and comedians Josie Long, Mark Watson and Daliso Chaponda will be doing that for you today.
