GEMMA COLLINS: SELF-HARM & ME

9PM, CH4 ★★★★

Bold and beautiful Gemma (right) made her name in reality show The Only Way Is Essex, so she’s used to sharing her life with the world. But for this deeply personal film, Gemma makes a brave confession about struggles she has kept private – not just from fans, but from those closest to her, too. As rates of self-harm in young people soar, Gemma takes the difficult step of sharing moving and intimate conversations with her therapist, family and friends as she confronts painful issues from her past and hopefully lays them to rest.

PAUL O’GRADY: FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS 8PM, ITV

★★★

This week, Paul meets a tenmonth-old golden retriever who’s recovering from surgery – a double hip replacement can’t keep this playful dog down for long. There’s also a six-year-old stray pug who has a bad case of mites, and 11 rare blue whippet puppies

about to start new lives.

INSIDE THE FACTORY 9PM, BBC2

★★★

In Chard, Somerset, Gregg Wallace visits the factory where the much-loved, bright red Henry vacuum cleaner starts his life – and gets his famous smile. Cherry Healey is in the laboratory to find out what exactly gets sucked up into your dust bag, while Ruth Goodman reveals how these cleaners evolved.

THE BAY 9PM, ITV

★★★ The identity of Saif Rahman’s killer is revealed in tonight’s concluding episode as his mum, Mariam, tries to put her shattered family life back together. Jenn’s family is on the verge of its own explosion, but perhaps she shouldn’t be too rash and instead show the same strength and determination at home as she does on the job. SA
