JANE MCDONALD: MY YORKSHIRE

9PM, CH5 ★★★ For her jolly new series, Jane gives us a personal view of her home county. As she was growing up in Wakefield, Jane took the beautiful scenery for granted. But with the arrival of her teens and her first car (a Vauxhall Viva), her newfound independence took her on local adventures. Now, she’s back behind the wheel of a Viva, wrestling with the lack of power steering on winding roads as she takes us on a tour of her old haunts. She starts in Holmfirth – where Last Of The Summer Wine was filmed – to relive Sunday-night TV viewing in the Mcdonald family home.

ANTIQUES ROADSHOW 7PM, BBC1

★★★★ Tonight’s episode comes from the Ulster Folk Museum, near Belfast, where Fiona Bruce and the experts encounter a wealth of treasures. There’s a stained-glass mermaid, a striking owl sculpture, a Japanese bronze temple bell and a life-saving piece of medical history that looks like – but isn’t – a bed pan.
