In the final case of the current series, Neville and Naomi (Ralf Little and Shantol Jackson, right) are left puzzled when a prestigious chess match ends in murder. A poisoned queen did it for champion Julius, but how did it get there when all the pieces were locked away overnight – and who wanted him dead? Meanwhile, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) is left hot under the collar when he is confronted with his past by the very last person he was expecting to see on the island: his ex-wife. Could a reconciliation be the cards?

The genial architect meets a touring theatre performer who has come up with an ingenious plan to keep the show on the road – by taking his home on the road! Then, he’s off to Portmeirion to view the enchanting Italianate- style architecture of this village on the coast of north Wales.

8PM, CH5 ★★★ Susan heads to the stunning Peak District in the heart of England, a region famed for its striking landscapes and rolling hills. First, she travels to the depths of the famous Blue John Cavern, before she takes a ride on a tram, braves the cold of the River Derwent and scales the heights in a cable car.
