This new series, showing nightly, follows celebrated chef and restaurateur Marcus (right) as he strives to build a slower, more sustainable way of life in the heart of the English countryside. We follow him as he learns how to run a smallholding in the High Weald, East Sussex, and shares with us irresistible recipes from the fruits of his labour. He’s a complete beginner, but Marcus will have help – from established farmers, growers and producers – and tonight, he welcomes Mangalitsa pigs to their new snuffling ground.

The fragility of dictatorial power is revealed, compounded by rifts within the Nazi regime and the weakening of public support for the Führer.

The verdict in Noah’s trial draws closer and, despite his lawyer’s efforts in his defence, everyone fears the worst. Will the family – so broken by the court case and by seething resentments – put differences aside and be strong for the accused, terrified teenager? Tonight’s finale at least brings them all back to Turkey.
