The character created by Len Deighton, and brought to the big screen by Michael Caine as Harry Palmer, is given a bit of a makeover for this six-part Cold War thriller. Harry, played by Joe Cole, is younger, but just as smart and bespectacl­ed. An Army corporal in West Berlin, Harry (right) is on the make, but about to be pulled into a dark internatio­nal plot. Wallowing in military prison after being caught selling contraband, he is approached by Dalby (Tom Hollander), from a secretive intelligen­ce agency, a situation he soon twists to his advantage.

Cee – a model of Nigerian heritage, who has albinism – sits for American photograph­ic artist Christy Lee Rogers. But rather than sit, Cee Cee swims for her. Rogers creates stunning underwater images that resemble Baroque paintings, and her portrait of Cee Cee is simply mind-blowing.

THE GREAT POTTERY THROW DOWN 7.45PM, CH4

Hosts Ellie Taylor and Siobhan Mcsweeney and judges Rich Miller and Keith Brymer Jones crown the 2022 winner in tonight’s grand final. But first, the three remaining potters must complete a project that tells their life story, and tackle a deviously difficult devil’s work challenge.
