The cult horror novelist H.P. Lovecraft didn’t like women or foreigners, and was anti-semitic – yet, in 1924, he married a Jewish Ukrainian called Sonia Greene. The marriage was short and strange, with the couple spending much of their time miles apart. This drama documentar­y focuses on their marriage, but also reveals a dark family secret that had a profound effect on Lovecraft’s work.

The plan was, as far as the Conservati­ves were concerned, that we would by now be living in a low-tax, light-touch economy.
