People have talked about the death of the traditiona­l sitcom for years, but good writing is good writing – and that’s what makes this returning show work. It’s full of sharp little chats between people at the cafe run by Kate (Brenda Blethyn), who is full of random prejudices. Her main foil is Koji, an asylum-seeking doctor who dispenses under-the-table medical advice in exchange for food. In series two, he’s played by Okorie Chukwu (right, with Blethyn), after Jimmy Akingbola left for Fresh Prince reboot Bel-air (Sky/ Now). The shift is seamless.

THIS IS MY HOUSE FOR RED NOSE DAY 8PM, BBC1 ★★★★

A celebrity special of this hilariousl­y bizarre show, in which four people pretend to own a house and a panel must deduce who’s telling the truth. The potential pretenders are Ricky Hatton, Claire Richards, Deborah Meaden and Rob Rinder, and the panel includes Chris Eubank and Harry Hill.

INTERIOR DESIGN MASTERS WITH ALAN CARR 9PM, BBC1 ★★★

Nine designers remain, and all of them have a real chance to stand out in week two’s challenge. Each will apply their own signature style to a different bedroom at Wotton House hotel, under a general theme of eccentric Britishnes­s. The hotel may not want to keep all of the results…

Council tenants swap homes in this inventive new take on property shows.
