In this week’s helping of this good old-fashioned sitcom, Kate finds her father’s old service revolver – and Koji (Okorie Chukwu, right, with Brenda Blethyn as Kate) gets very nervous when she starts waving it around the place. For Iris, the gun triggers one of her ‘Jimmy Stewart days’, while Kate ends up channelling her inner Dirty Harry. Elsewhere, a group of visiting bird watchers offer a money-making opportunity, Mr Mullholland announces he’s going on a diet and Councillor Bone tries to get Kate to support the opening of the new Seagate Museum.

In tonight’s episode, find out how to bake better biscuits with the latest high-tech kitchen aids, get the inside track on on-ear headphones, and find out if the latest virtual reality gaming gadget is worth shelling out for. There’s also a look back at the history of the iphone, which first launched back in 2007.

YOUR BODY UNCOVERED WITH KATE GARRAWAY 8PM, BBC2

Kate and Dr Guddi meet 25-year-old Miriam, who has endometriosis and is desperate to get her life back. This debilitating condition, which can cause cysts on the ovaries, makes even household chores exhausting. They also meet John, who needs delicate surgery for kidney stones.

INTERIOR DESIGN MASTERS 9PM, BBC1 ★★★

The six remaining contestants tackle retail week, working in pairs to make over three highstreet boutiques. Salisbury is the location, where a bridal shop, a homeware shop and a lingerie shop, in characterful old properties, will be given a new lease of life, with retail guru Mary Portas on hand to judge the finished results.
