For her first trip, she’s joining the passengers of the Regal Princess as they head from Southampton to the Canary Islands. Susan dives straight into the cruising lifestyle, getting a taste of adventure at the various stops on these sunshine islands. From jetskiing to drag, and cocktails and spa treatments to an undersea stroll, Susan takes to it all like a duck to water.

★★★★ While Monty Don keeps on top of his seasonal to-do list at Longmeadow, the rest of the team report from gardens up and down the country, with Carol Klein in Essex and Toby Buckland in Cornwall. We also meet a Yorkshire gardener who is fanatical about ferns, and discover an alpine plant that’s right for any aspect.

The concluding episode of this picturesque series takes in the wide-open spaces of the Yukon river, traversing 2,000 miles across Canada and Alaska. The Yukon’s bounty of salmon provides a feast for grizzly bears before they hibernate. In winter, the river freezes over – heaven for dog-sledders and a lifeline for lynx.
