She will also be helping us to decide which tree or large shrub is suitable for our gardens – and shows how even a small garden can benefit from the right choice.

From the paintings of William Hogarth and the pottery of Josiah Wedgwood to the writings of Jonathan Swift and the poems of Robert Burns, this was a flourishing period for the arts – sadly, it was also a time when Britain became rich through the spoils of empire and slavery, something that doesn’t sit right today.
