I’M A CELEBRITY SOUTH AFRICA

★★★★★

Previous winners will be joined by a collection of other former jungle favourites for a ‘best of’ series filmed at Kruger National Park. Quite a few of the international versions of I’m A Celebrity are made there – in fact, the Australian edition is currently in full swing. There will be no public vote this time round, with the stars going head to head in trials, and whoever loses leaves. Ant and Dec (right) oversee their arrival before the battle to become the first-ever I’m A Celebrity Legend begins.

MASTERMIND

8PM, BBC2 ★★★★ After 31 weeks, just six brainy contestants remain. Clive Myrie will be asking the questions for the last time in this series, on the finalists’ specialist subjects of British and Irish Lions tours in the

21st century, Princess Margaret, the Rocky films, Bletchley Park during the Second World War, Augustus

Caesar and the BBC sitcom Extras.

SARAH BEENY’S NEW LIFE IN THE COUNTRY

8PM, CH4 ★★★

Episode two, and Sarah (below) and her husband Graham continue their quest to turn their recently completed house into a home, here focusing on the guest bedroom. The place was a building site for nearly four years, so visitors were few and far between, but Sarah has plans to make this room into something really special – although matching wallpaper and soft furnishings might be a step too far. Moving outside, she is taking inspiration from Taunton’s Willow Cathedral, hoping to re-create its magic for her very own peaceful garden retreat.

BLUE LIGHTS

9PM, BBC1 ★★★ Last week’s episode was pretty full-on, and occasionally confusing with its numerous flashbacks. This penultimate instalment is more straightforward, with Mo Mcintyre forging ahead with his side hustle of selling AK-47S to Sully. He’s confident that his father doesn’t know about this, but he has more to fear than just James’s wrath. The three probationers are again in the spotlight, with Grace conflicted about returning to work, Annie coming clean to her team-mates and Tommy taking his shooting test. Don’t miss the explosive ending, where the gangland violence claims one of the Belfast police’s own.

999: WHAT’S YOUR EMERGENCY?

9PM, CH4 ★★★★

South Yorkshire police officers (including PCS Rhona Fisher and Steph Lill, left) respond to calls from victims of bullying, from playground violence to coercive abuse in adult relationships. PCS Pete Butler and Chris Shepherd try to find out what happened to a 14-year-old who ended up in hospital after being set upon by a gang, while PC Ryan Everitt is sent to help a woman whose ex breached a restraining order, leaving her terrified and injured. The man is still at large, and he has a knife.

FIRST DATES

10PM, CH4 ★★★

Emma, who markets footwear, is rather fond of jokes about cheese – has she found her perfect man in cheesemaker Archie? Also in the restaurant is tattoo studio manager Donna, a rockabilly fan who thinks dating was more fun in the 1950s. She’s been paired with Anthony, who adores that particular decade. Both couples look to be good matches, as do Esi and Mike, who start out well. They bond over a love of the gym and a similar outlook on life – but then, disaster strikes...
