PIERS MORGAN: AMOL RAJAN INTERVIEWS

7PM, bbc2 ★★★ Piers Morgan has had a rollercoaster career, and this latest interview – with the BBC’S former media editor – proves to be one of the most revealing yet, with the former newspaper editor and Britain’s

Got Talent judge in candid mood. From hacking allegations to being punched by Jeremy Clarkson to his role in the culture wars, Morgan reveals the emotional and physical scars he has picked up over the decades. He also reveals the real reason he walked out of Good Morning Britain, and answers the suggestion he is obsessed with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. The interview also offers a rare insight into Morgan’s personal life as he talks openly about his friends and family, and how much they mean to him.

CAPE VERDE WITH JANE MCDONALD 8PM, CH5

★★★

This week, the Wakefield warbler travels to the beautiful archipelago of Cape Verde, which lies 350 miles off the coast of West Africa and has become a popular winter destination for sun-starved Brits. Jane heads for the unspoilt island of Sal, where she explores the sights by bike. Along the way, she experiences the magic of a mirage, goes fishing for a feast and works out with the ‘body beautiful’ people at a beach gym before floating her cares away in a salt lake in the centre of a volcano. It will have you reaching for your holiday brochures in no time.

GUILT 9PM, bbc2

★★★★

The penultimate episode finds Max (Mark Bonnar) and Jake (Jamie Sives) still very much alive, but Teddy has told Maggie (Phyllis Logan, on truly menacing form) that he carried out her orders to kill them. There will be hell to pay when she finds out he lied. As the brothers work out how they’re going to fight back against her, Sheila (Ellie Haddington) plants a seed of doubt in Jake’s mind – can he really trust Max? And if not, then who?

INSIDE NO. 9 10PM, bbc2 ★★★

Another macabre tale from the minds of Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, although this isn’t one of their strongest, with a twist you can see coming from a mile away. Love Is A Stranger stars Claire Rushbrook as Vicky, a lonely singleton who is about to find out that you meet all sorts when you go online dating. But who in their right mind would consider meeting a stranger when a murderer who goes by the name of the Lonely Hearts Killer is stalking the streets? Gavin & Stacey’s Mathew Horne, Frances Barber and Asim Chaudhry are the guest stars in a tale of the expected.
