- SLYATHOME From Wednesday, Paramount+

We’ve met The Osbournes and the Kardashians. Now Rocky legend Sylvester ‘Sly’ Stallone has invited cameras into his glitzy home to document the daily life he shares with wife Jennifer and their daughters in the latest reality series, The Family Stallone.

The eight-parter on Paramount+ sees Oscar-nominee Sly at his luxurious LA house as well as mixing with starry mates like Al Pacino and Dolph Lundgren. But most of the action is home-based, concentrating on family dynamics between Stallone, his wife of 26 years, Jennifer Flavin, 54, and their daughters Sophia, 26, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20.

Stallone says his motivation for making the show is to spend more time with his loved ones (and a camera crew, it seems). He seems to harbour genuine regret about having spent so much time away from home during his career.

The Oscar nominee, 76, brushes off criticism about making a reality series, instead insisting he’s capitalising on his newfound popularity as the star of Tulsa King. The Paramount drama, which has just been renewed for a second season, stars Stallone as a mobster exiled to the US Midwest.

‘People say, “Oh, reality TV… Need a job or something?”’ he says. ‘I’m saying, “No, no, no. I feel I have this resurgence going on, so why not at this moment show people what it’s like, not when you’re over or retired.”’

The Family Stallone will be

‘the ultimate home movie’, he promises. ‘I’m going to be with my kids under a work condition where they get to see me in action and I get to see them in action. What you will see is the real truth.’

You’ll also see a few fireworks. Stallone promises that the series will cover his recent marital turbulence – Jennifer filed for divorce last August, essentially accusing him of wasting the family’s money, before the pair reconciled a month later.

‘Of course it’s part of the show,’ says Stallone, who uses the John Lennon song lyric ‘Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans’ to explain his

My kids will get to see me in action and I’ll get to see them in action. What you will see is the real truth

behaviour. ‘Sometimes I put the work ahead of my family, and that is a tragic mistake which won’t happen again.’
