AMOL RAJAN INTERVIEWS 7PM, BBC2

★★★

Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein – the US journalists who broke the Watergate scandal that brought down President Richard M. Nixon – reunite for this in-depth interview, recalling their ground-breaking work for The Washington Post and discussing parallels between Nixon’s downfall and the current trials faced by former President Donald Trump. Along the way, they take in the state of America – and the wider world – today.

JANE MCDONALD’S MAGICAL MOROCCO 8PM, CH5

★★★

The singer and easy-going travel guide loves a spot of shopping while on holiday, and gets to indulge in her favourite ‘sport’ in the markets of Marrakech – where she also learns to haggle. The stress of bagging bargains can take its toll, though, and afterwards at her riad (a traditional Moroccan house with a courtyard), she has her cares soothed away in a relaxing steam bath. And, after travelling by motorbike (well, she’s in the sidecar) to a historic mosque and taking a dune buggy drive to the desert, Jane winds up her North African adventure with a feast.

GUILT 9PM, BBC2

★★★ Last week, Sheila suggested that Jake shouldn’t trust his brother; in this last of the series, she may be proved right as Max keeps his plan to seize Sturrock’s money a secret. Matters come to a head as Sturrock battles to force through the bank sale, and Max and Jake battle to be free of danger – and each other.

INSIDE NO. 9 10PM, BBC2

★★★

Robin Askwith made his name in the saucy Confessions Of... films of the 1970s, but has enjoyed a bit of a revival of late thanks to his appearances in The Madame Blanc Mysteries. That continues with his starring role as the mysterious Mr Cole, alongside show creators Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith (left, with Askwith), who this time play bus conductors Wolfie and Clarke. All aboard for another tale of the unexpected...
