- ARNIE’S BACK IN ACTION

‘I’m back, baby!’ declares Arnold Schwarzenegger... and he certainly is. Nearly 40 years after Arnie first thrilled action film fans as The Terminator, with his catchphrase, ‘I’ll be back’, he’s storming onto our screens with his first leading role in a TV action series. And it’s a shootem-up romp fizzing with funny lines and explosive escapades.

In FUBAR (a military acronym for F **** d Up Beyond All Recognition) he plays Luke Brunner, a CIA agent who’s about to retire. And Luke has plans, he tells pals at his retirement party. ‘Tally and I talked about sailing around the world together. Now I’m retired, what’s to stop us?’

‘Divorce papers?’ suggests Roo. ‘She doesn’t love you any more?’ adds Aldon. Nevertheless, Luke’s sure he can fix the relationship he blames his work for destroying.

There’s just one problem – the CIA need him to take on one final mission. And when he lands in Guyana in South America there’s a big surprise – as the fellow officer Luke’s been sent to rescue before they’re exposed to the enemy turns out to be his daughter!

It seems Luke and Emma (Monica Barbaro) have both been working secretly as agents for years. Can they get past the lies they’ve told each other and work as partners?

‘Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years,’ says Arnold, ‘and now they’re finally going to get it. FUBAR will kick your ass and make you laugh – and not just for two hours. You get a whole season.’ It’s undoubtedly Arnie’s presence that will draw many viewers to the show – which was created by Nick Santora, whose writing credits include The Sopranos, Law &

Order, Prison Break and Reacher – but it’s packed with entertaining performances. The Good Cop’s Barbaro is perfect as feisty Emma,
