THE BIG INTERIORS BATTLE
8PM, CH4
There are only three budding designers left in the competition to win a £250k Leeds city apartment, and Dara Huang raises the stakes with another off-site challenge. She sends the designers to the picturesque
Peak District to spin some magic on an outdoor adventure centre which has an ugly common room that needs to do a better job of fitting into its stunning surroundings. The challenge involves teamwork, and Dara will want to see them working well together as they strive to create a space that will work just as well for adult hikers as it will for a group of excitable under-ten-year-olds.
HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU 9PM, BBC1
The latest edition of this comical look back at the week’s headlines has broadcaster Carol Vorderman and comedian Nabil Abdulrashid joining panel stalwarts Paul Merton and Ian Hislop. And don’t miss Radio 4’s The News Quiz at 6.30pm (or catch up on BBC Sounds) – that topical news show has been with us since 1977 and was the inspiration for Have I Got News For You.
National Trust hands since
1995. We follow efforts to re-create the wallpaper in the front room under the watchful eye of Mike – who’s keen to check with ‘our kid’ (aka older brother Paul) that they’ve got it absolutely right. We also follow the preservation work of volunteers on a huge cache of photographic prints in the collection of celebrated Liverpool photographer E. Chambré Hardman, and the restoration of a sculpture by Anthony Twentyman that stood in the grounds of Dudmaston Hall in Shropshire.
