Hugh and cry in the college bar as an old boy charms the Oxford girls
AT ALMOST 50, he might struggle to remember his student days.
Which is perhaps why Hugh Grant decided to take a refresher course.
The actor descended upon his alma mater Oxford University for a night out with a group of undergraduates – many of them pretty young things young enough to be his daughters.
Grant attended New College in the late 1970s, and left with an Upper Second in English.
He was invited back for a formal dinner there at the weekend and decided to kick on at the college bar, where students were celebrating the end of their exams.
The actor offered to buy drinks for the entire crowd and handed his credit card to staff, only to be told that it was a cash-only bar. So he whipped out a £50 note, bought ten tickets to a local nightclub and handed them out.
One student told the university publication, Cherwell: ‘After dinner he headed off with staff for a private drink but he got bored and left. That’s when he came down to the bar. He was loving it.’
Grant has shown his taste for younger company before. In 2007, images of him appearing to kiss a student in a St Andrews University digs were beamed around the world.
