A King’s ransom
THE boss of Sainsbury’s took home nearly £8m last year as the grocer’s revival continued apace.
Justin King banked £3.35m in pay, bonuses, shares and other perks – a 63pc rise on last year, the group’s annual report revealed. He also cashed in £4.5m in share options under earlier long-term schemes. His overall package is up 60pc on last year’s £4.9m. Following a 17pc rise in profits, Sainsbury’s 127,000 staff shared a record bonus pot of some £80m, an average of £630 each.
