Heartbroken Tamara drops her lover after he appears in sordid sex tape
ONE can only wonder what her father will have to say about it. Tamara Ecclestone has dumped the man she talked of marrying – after film emerged of him engaged in a ‘revolting’ sexual encounter.
The daughter of billionaire Formula One supremo Bernie had stuck by lover Omar Khyami, 38, in March when the Daily Mail revealed he was an ex-convict living a lie under a new name.
But a sordid film which shows him apparently engaging in sex acts with an unidentified individual has proved to be the final straw for their two-and-a-half year romance.
Miss Ecclestone has had Mr Khyami’s belongings sent to him and changed the locks on her £45million home.
However, the Daily Mail can reveal that there has been a sophisticated campaign to drive a wedge between Mr Khyami and Miss Ecclestone, 28.
His unidentified detractors have compiled a dossier in which they allege that he is a fraud and attempt to paint him as a gold-digger. Mr Khyami has denied the accusations, insisting: ‘I love Tamara and that’s it.’
He claimed yesterday that someone had been trying to ‘blackmail’ him, and said he had three ‘surprising’ suspects who he believed were behind a concerted effort to end his relationship.
Mr Khyami admitted he was the man in the sex tape but insisted it happened years ago at a stag do. He said he had no idea who filmed what he understood to be a low-quality 30 second clip.
When asked about the sordid video starring her lover, Miss Ecclestone said: ‘I have spoken to Omar and he has
‘She wants nothing more to do with him’
admitted that it’s true. It’s over now. I have spoken to my dad and I have spoken to my family.
‘I don’t want anyone else to go through what I have gone through. I feel sick about what has gone on. This will draw a line under it.’
She also wrote on her Twitter page: ‘What’s happened to me is devastating even more so because of the type of deceit it was. If it was a simple case of another woman it would be a different story. I am glad I know the truth and can now move on.’
On Thursday, the day she learnt of the video, she wrote: ‘People never fail to disappoint but I really hope what comes around goes around.’ She added later: ‘Hope tomorrow will be a better day.’
Yesterday the model and presenter was in talks with publicist Max Clifford about telling the story of how her love affair had gone so wrong.
Mr Clifford said: ‘I know from speaking to Tamara just how heartbroken she is, but she is also revolted by this tape. She is trying to be strong and she has people who are close to her helping her to move on.’
And a source close to Miss Ecclestone told the Daily Mail: ‘This tape is so revolting that it has given Tamara the strength to start to move on. She wants nothing more to do with him.’
When questioned about his seedy romp on camera, Mr Khyami said: ‘This wasn’t a relationship. This was my friend’s stag. We were all messed up and drunk. I didn’t even know what the hell it was.
‘ Tamara is being hot- headed. I dispute everything. This was before I was with Tamara.’
Mr Khyami then claimed he was being blackmailed, adding: ‘I don’t actually have the name of this individual. This person has tried to blackmail me. I have been having this for over a year now, almost 14 months.
‘I have a case and I’m waiting for lawyers to see where we stand. I thought it was going to go away but the person continued blackmailing me.’
Mr Khyami admitted he had not so far reported this to the police – but he told the Daily Mail that he was certain someone had conducted a concerted campaign to split the couple up.
He also claimed a similar thing had happened to his younger brother Ali two years ago when he courted a girl from another fabulously wealthy family – Chloe Green, daughter of Topshop mogul Sir Philip.
Mr Khyami, who describes himself as a ‘trader’ after claims he was a stockbroker were disproved, said he was currently living at his own flat in Mayfair, and appeared to harbour hopes of being reunited with Miss Ecclestone.
He said: ‘I haven’t seen the video, and don’t know who filmed it, but it happened some time before I met Tamara, in England in a private house.
‘But a lot of funny stuff has been going on, spiteful, and the whole point has been to spoil something. Someone has set something up. I’ve got three suspects.
’I’ve been tailed, bank statements have been looked at. The only thing they haven’t done is come with heavies to break my kneecaps.’
Mr Khyami’s claims of a campaign to wreck his relationship were given weight by the fact that earlier this year, the Daily Mail was anonymously sent a professional dossier on Mr Khyami which featured photographs taken during apparently skilled surveillance, and information about past convictions.
Those past convictions included the facts – soon verified by further research – that his real name was Amre Al Khyami, and that he had been jailed for 18 months in 1994 for selling stolen Rolex watches taken from an armed raid on a jewellers.
Miss Ecclestone had been unaware of his criminal past, but vowed to stay with him, saying at the time: ‘I don’t condone his actions. But everyone makes mistakes when they are young.’
She said early this year it was ‘only a matter of time’ before they wed.
