Actor who was the voice of Lennon dies
COMEDY actor and author John Clive has died at the age of 9.
The entertainer, who was the voice of John Lennon in Yellow Submarine and who appeared in A Clockwork Orange, The Italian Job and Pink Panther and Carry On movies, died yesterday after a short illness, his family said.
Mr Clive, who was an international best-selling author in later life, most famously appeared alongside Michael Caine in The Italian Job.
A year earlier he voiced the part of Lennon in Yellow Submarine – a role that was controversially kept under wraps after the Beatles chose not to provide their own voices.
His writing career resulted in international best-sellers KG200 and Broken Wings.
Mr John is survived by two children from his first marriage – Alex and Hannah – and wife Bryony.
