ARGENTINA has appointed a former soft porn actress to its government.

Sex symbol Isabel Sarli – the first Argentinian woman to appear in fullfrontal nude shots on-screen – has joined the ministry of culture as an under-secretary.

President Cristina Kirchner said she would be ‘a true representative of national culture’.

The former model, 77, was named Miss Argentina in 1955. She went on to star in dozens of erotic films during the Sixties and Seventies, with names such as Naked Temptation, Tropical Ecstasy and Fire, Meat, Love and Sex.

Censors described her movies as ‘dirty’, but Mrs Kirchner stressed that her new colleague was ‘a popular icon of her day and an emblematic figure of Argentine cinema’.
