Romola baby due to debut
IT’S a good thing life has not imitated art in the case of actor Sam Hoare, who is soon to become a father, I learn.
For while his actress girlfriend of the past 12 months, striking Romola Garai, 29, (pictured) has told friends she is pregnant, Sam has been putting the finishing touches to his first fulllength feature film — involving infertility.
Banking heir Sam, 32, who cast Romola as the leading lady in Having You, wrote and directed the film which is all about a man who finally manages to propose to his infertile girlfriend, only to find his life turned-upside down by the arrival of an old one-night stand who introduces him to his seven-year-old son.
The movie is being produced by a youthful new production company, Holland Park Pictures, whose boss Lucan Toh, 32, tells me: ‘We’re just days away from appointing a sales agent for the film and we’re hoping to release it by the first quarter of next year.’
Sam, 32, whose father is investment banker Tim Hoare, will also be seen in Stephen Poliakoff’s new BBC drama Dancing On The Edge and in a PG Wodehouse adaptation, Blandings.
In between his busy acting, directing and writing schedule, friends believe he will make time to escort Romola down the aisle.
