MARTIN SAMUEL has been named Britain’s top sports journalist. Chief sports writer Samuel, whose columns every Monday and Wednesday tackle sport’s biggest issues with power and ingenuity, came first in the Press Gazette’s top 50 sports journalists. The awards list was compiled by polling some of the biggest names in British sports journalism. Sportsmail’s DES KELLY was recognised for his weekly column, as was CHARLES SALE for his work on Sports Agenda.
