Two women were pregnant with his sons at same time

IF fatherhood came late to Hugh Grant, he is making up for lost time.

The 53-year-old actor has gone from being childless to a father of three in the space of just 15 months. His third love- child was revealed yesterday – a son born to Swedish television producer Anna Eberstein.

She would have been pregnant at the same time as Grant’s other lover Tinglan Hong, who gave birth to his son Felix Chang three months afterwards. The third baby has only been revealed because the Notting Hill star suddenly named himself on the boy’s birth certificate, more than a year after he was born. When the baby was first registered, the father’s name was left blank. Yet Grant, who found fame with the film Four Weddings and a Funeral, and his Swedish girlfriend appear to have been an item for at least two years.

In 2011, before Miss Eberstein became pregnant, they were pictured strolling around London dressed casually in jeans. About a month before their son was born, Miss Eberstein moved into a £2.69million mansion apartment bought for cash, and she is the sole owner. It is not known if 33-year-old Miss Hong, who is also the mother of Grant’s first child, was aware of his affair with Miss Eberstein, who is in her mid-thirties. There was no immediate comment from Grant or his spokesman yesterday and, on leaving her home last night, Miss Eberstein would only say: ‘Sorry, I have to go.’

And so it fell to Miss Eberstein’s proud mother Susanne in Sweden to focus attention on the grandson she has been sworn to keep secret for more than a year. He was, she said simply, a ‘wonderful little cute boy’.

The pin-up actor has dated a string of beautiful women during a glittering Hollywood career. But he turned 50 in 2010 still unmarried and childless.

That quickly changed. Grant’s first child, daughter Tabitha, was born to Miss Hong in September 2011. Within four months of the birth, Miss Eberstein was pregnant by him.

Three months after that he got Miss Hong pregnant again. And for around five months in 2012, the two women’s pregnancies overlapped.

During this time, in April 2012, the actor told a US chat show: ‘Everyone was right all these years, saying, “Hugh, why don’t you have some children? It changes your life.” Now that I have a child, it is life-changing. I recommend it. Get some.’

Five months later, in September 2012, his son by Miss Eberstein was born. His son by Miss Hong, Felix Chang, followed about 12 weeks later in December.

Both mothers and their children live within walking distance of Grant’s townhouse in Fulham, West London.

terrace house bought by the actor.

Miss Eberstein’s £2.69million home is beyond her earnings as a television producer, thought to have been between £20,000 and £40,000 a year.

According to her online profile, she worked at ESPN, the American TV channel as a promotions producer’ before leaving in September to become a freelance producer.

When her son was born in 2012, his birth certificate was left blank in the section for the father, but last month the birth was mysteriously re-registered.

Grant visited the register office in person with his girlfriend to remedy the omission.

This time, the little boy – who the Mail is not naming – was given Grant’s surname and his father was listed as Hugh John Mungo Grant, occupation ‘actor’.

The mother is named as Anna Elisabet Eberstein, occupation ‘television producer’, born in Sweden.

She is the daughter of Susanne Eberstein, a judge and prominent left-wing politician.

She and her husband Hans – also a judge – earn an estimated £320,000 a year between them and own a number of properties including a beach house.

As members of Sweden’s ‘ great and good’, they have dined with the royal family at Stockholm’s castle several times.

Their daughter met Grant in London, possibly through their mutual love of tennis.

Miss Hong, who was born in eastern China and moved to Britain in 2003, is understood to have met Grant in a Chelsea wine bar in 2008.
