Hollywood turns fans sour with Great British Smut Off

- By Laura Cox

HE made his television name as a housewives’ favourite before risking it all with an affair.

Now Great British Bake off star Paul hollywood has further sullied his heart-throb image by peppering his live show with ‘smutty’ jokes and sexual innuendo.

The first four instalments of his Get Your Bake on cookery master- class saw hollywood, 47, kissing women in the audience, joking about romantic liaisons with fans, pouring cream into their mouths and showing off topless photographs of himself.

Audience members expressed shock and surprise after watching the opening performances of the eight-month tour, for which they had paid up to £40. Some were elderly women being taken for a belated Mother’s day treat.

Jack Collier, 23, who took his 55-yearold mother Joyce after finding tickets discounted to £14 online, said: ‘I had wondered why the tickets were being sold so cheap and I guess this is why. The constant sex jokes and innuendos became boring and annoying.’

on Monday in Newcastle the married father jokingly suggested he had shared a secret tryst with an audience member.

handing a woman a pair of reading glasses she had dropped in the theatre foyer, he said: ‘You left these in my dressing room.’ In Wednesday’s show in Glasgow, hollywood invited one of his female fans on to the stage. Instructing her to ‘open your mouth’, he began pumping whipped cream down her throat, drawing a mixture of astonishment and laughter from the sell-out crowd, about 80 per cent of which was female.

demonstrating his cake- making skills in Newcastle, hollywood urged his fans to ‘beat it until it’s stiff ’ with a knowing wink.

In Glasgow, when making an apple pie, he giggled as he said: ‘I like to use my fingers.’

Even hollywood’s fellow Bake off judge Mary Berry, 79, was not off limits. At one point he said: ‘Most of the stuff I like to do by hand. But Mary likes to use machines.’

Yesterday, one audience member, who did not want to be named, said she was considering whether to lodge a formal complaint to Glasgow’s Royal Concert hall about the seedy gags.

last year the chef lost public support after cheating on his wife of 15 years Alexandra, 49, with Marcela Valladolid, 35, his co-judge on the American version of Bake off. he has said the affair was the ‘biggest mistake of my life’, and has since got back with his wife.

hollywood’s spokesman said: ‘We’ve had a fantastic response from the audience who have attended Paul’s tour.’
