Watch out for ...

-

GEORGE MACKAY ( below right), who will team with Viggo Mortensen in the film Captain Fantastic.

And before you say ‘ Marvel Comics, Lord Of The Rings Part 4’, or whatever, it’s not one of those kind of pictures.

It’s a film, written and directed by Matt Ross about a father and his six children who have been living outside society, or ‘off the grid’, in the far north-west of America, and how, for the sake of the family, the father wants to rejoin the throng.

MacKay has been cast to play the eldest son. He flies out this weekend to rehearse and shoot. Filming will take place out in Washington state and New Mexico.

MacKay emerged as one of the standouts from Pride, Matthew Warchus’s great new film about solidarity and friendship set against the backdrop of the 1984 miners’ strike.

Pride also includes Andrew Scott, Dominic West, Imelda Staunton, Freddie Fox, Ben Schnetzer and Bill Nighy (brilliant with Carey Mulligan in David Hare’s resonant Skylight, currently at Wyndham’s Theatre).

LOUISE BREALEY (above left), who plays morgue registrar Molly Hooper in TV’s Sherlock, has joined the cast of ITV drama Ripper Street.

She will play Dr Amelia Frayn, who runs the Obsidian Clinic in Whitechapel and is responsible for those in the district who can’t care for themselves. But it’s an uphill battle.

Luckily the formidable Dr Frayn is up for it and she fights tooth and nail for her patients while fighting to improve her medical facilities and modernise the Victorian health system.

Louise is in the film Delicious and has also filmed Frankenstein with James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe and Andrew Scott, her old friend from Sherlock.
