Tuesday, October 14, 7pm: Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera
WRITTEN when Mozart was just 18, this rarely performed opera is the highly comic story of seven characters in search of love and contains some breathtaking music from the young composer.
Frederic Wake-Walker’s production is a visual treat, with sumptuous costumes and a set that shows off the skill of Glyndebourne’s behind-the-scenes team.
Monday, October 20, 7pm: Verdi’s La Traviata
THIS tragic, passionate story of a fallen woman who challenges the limits of society in her quest for true love features some of the most intensely dramatic music in all opera. A masterpiece.
