Farewell to the woman who tamed James Hunt

-

SARAH LOMAX, who is said to have ‘tamed’ womanising F1 driver James Hunt, has died at the age of 55 after battling against cancer.

She met Hunt, whose love life was portrayed in the hit film Rush last year, after he was abandoned by his first wife, Suzy miller. Suzy left the playboy for Richard Burton.

Hunt married Sarah (left) in 1983 after arriving late for the wedding in Wiltshire because his brother had to go shopping for a tie for him.

Despite having lost all her hair during gruelling cancer treatment, Sarah appeared on the red carpet at the Rush premiere with her two sons by Hunt, Tom and Freddie.

She and Hunt, who died in 1993 aged 45, had continued to live together for the sake of their children after they separated in 1988.

‘She was a lovely woman and will be much missed by all who had the good fortune to know her,’ says a friend.
