Sky’s Anna gives birth at 47

AN AUTHORITATIVE voice on Sky News, Anna Botting has a significant bulletin of her own. The presenter has given birth to a son at the age of 47.

‘She’s absolutely delighted,’ says a friend. The boy, whose name has not been announced, was born before Christmas. Anna gave birth to her first child, Gracie, in late 2012, the same year that she was named as the Royal Television Society’s presenter of the year.

Oxford-educated Anna has been in a long-term relationship with the children’s father, Nicholas Purdue, 48, since they met eight years ago in the French Alps, where he was working as a ski guide. He is now a headhunter with recruitment firm CPB Partners.

Anna said in 2012 that she was in no rush to tie the knot with Nicholas, with whom she lives in Surrey. That will have been well received by the smitten fan who once sent her an engagement ring, ‘plus the bill for £550 to show me how much he paid for it’.
