Warmer weather? Get the bathroom fitters in!

-

TEMPERATURES hit 17C last weekend, hotter than Rome.

And while the sun might be hiding its face for the next few days, another warm blast of good weather will soon be on its way.

In fact, forecasters are saying we may enjoy a better-than-usual spring and a hot, hot, hot Easter!

So for anyone who wants to give their home a facelift, perhaps in the form of an easier-to-use bathroom, this is a much more congenial time to start planning.

While it was cold, everyone wanted to keep their doors and windows firmly shut. But as warmer weather filters through, the idea of installers coming in and out need no longer fill us with the shivers.

The installation of a walk-in bath or shower is usually very carefully planned by a specialist bathing company.

So all the parts should be available, meaning work can often be done in just a day or so, with no hold-ups.

What’s more, an easy-access shower will often come as a ‘pod’ kit — which includes everything from ready-made tile-effect walls, to slip-resistant flooring.

The pod can be fitted into the footprint of the old bath, without the usual mess, bother and delays of tiling.

Before you know it, the job’s done. And you are the proud owner of a stylish shower that will help you to stay safe while washing, while being an asset you’ll want to show off to friends.

CHANGING to a safer bathroom can be a wise investment in your future. More than three million people of state pension age fall each year, and 80 per cent of these accidents happen in the bathroom. Studies show that people without mobility aids and adaptations are twice as likely to fall, which can lead to hip or shoulder fractures — injuries that can fast-track a person into care.
