Hester’s bonanza
STEPHEN Hester received a total of £2.1m for his role as chief executive of insurer RSA.
The sum paid out to the former RBS boss included a salary of £864,000, benefits of £57,000, a bonus of £939,000 and pension benefits of £258,000.
Executive salaries have been frozen for a second year in 2015 and none of the 2012-2014 long term incentive plans will bear fruit.
Hester was granted awards with a face value of £2.85m under a performance share plan that will pay out in 2017, if the targets are met.
RSA shares nudged up 1.8p to 437.8p yesterday.
