Take that, you rat... scorned f lorist rams her ex’s Porsche

- By Emily Kent Smith

A JILTED florist repeatedly rammed her former fiance’s Porsche and his new girlfriend’s BMW in an act of revenge.

Tracey Taylor was furious to learn that her partner of nearly 20 years had found someone new.

So the 34-year-old drove to the woman’s house with her daughters, aged four and 12. Taylor scratched both vehicles with a key before, with the terrified children in the back, she ploughed her Volkswagen Golf into the cars. She then smashed the BMW’s windscreen with a rock, causing a total of £14,000 damage.

Taylor had earlier attacked her former lover and his new girlfriend at the house, pulling her hair and punching him on the ear, a court heard.

She returned two days later and began smashing the contents of the home, including a flat-screen TV and a vase of Valentine’s roses, as the girlfriend’s 19- year- old daughter watched in horror.

When arrested, Taylor told police she was angry that they both had expensive cars while her ex-partner had left her penniless.

Taylor, from Desford, Leicestershire, admitted two counts of common assault and causing £9,800 damage to the Porsche and £3,800 damage to the BMW on February 18. She also admitted burglary and causing £750 of damage at the woman’s home two days later.

But she was spared jail this week by a judge at Leicester Crown Court. Instead Taylor, who also has a son of 15 by her ex-fiance, was given a 12-month suspended sentence and ordered to do 150 hours’ community service. Recorder Mark Hill QC also imposed a five-year restraining order, banning her from contacting the new girlfriend or her teenage daughter.

He told Taylor: ‘You were unable to control your temper and your appalling behaviour brings discredit upon you. You displayed a high level of anger and violence, carried out in the presence of two young children.’

Taylor’s lawyer Lynsey Knott said: ‘She’s a devoted mother, has no previous convictions, and is ashamed two of her children were present. She’d assisted her partner with the running of the businesses and after the breakdown was left without a home.

‘She was at rock bottom and is truly sorry. Her doctor has increased her anti-depressant medication.’

The former boyfriend, a 40-yearold used-car salesman who asked not to be named, denied afterwards that he had left Taylor penniless.

He said she had bombarded his new girlfriend with texts, sent pictures of herself in her underwear and turned up at the house wearing only her dressing gown.

He believes her anger boiled over when she saw his girlfriend’s BMW in the drive. He added: ‘People say I should hate her but I’ve spent half my life with her so obviously I have feelings for her.’

His girlfriend has now left him as a result of the incidents, he said.
