Predator Rolf Harris could face more sex abuse charges
A ‘FULL file’ of further allegations against jailed entertainer Rolf Harris is being considered by prosecutors.
The Crown Prosecution Service said it received the evidence after an 85-year old man was interviewed in February in relation to Operation Yewtree, the investigation launched in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal.
That man is understood to be Harris, who is serving a prison term for a string of indecent assaults. The Metropolitan Police said it would not comment on the case.
Harris was unanimously found guilty of molesting four girls. One woman who was just seven or eight was groped when she asked for his autograph, while another two fell prey as young teenagers.
The veteran presenter, who charmed television audiences for decades, was also convicted of a catalogue of abuse against another young victim, who prosecutors said Harris groomed from the age of 13 and used like ‘his little toy’. The predatory paedophile was jailed for five years for the offences, which took place between 19 8 and 198 .
Sentencing at Southwark Crown Court, Mr Justice Sweeney said Harris had shown ‘no remorse’ for his crimes. He said: ‘Your reputation lies in ruins, you have been stripped of your honours, but you have no one to blame but yourself.’
Earlier this year the veteran presenter, who was a popular television figure for decades, subsequently had his CBE annulled at the order of the Queen following his conviction.
He was also stripped of honours bestowed by Australia, namely the appointments of Officer and Member of the Order of Australia in the General Division.
