THE stories of Caribbean volunteers during World War II are celebrated in this new mix of archive footage and stories. Winston Murphy and Victor Brown were the only black men on a merchant navy oil tanker, and are reunited here.

ORIGINALLY an Eighties TV drama that helped to launch the career of Johnny Depp, the concept — of young cops going undercover in a school — is revived for this update. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are the chalk-andcheese duo, fresh out of police academy and hunting drugs in high school.

NEW ADULT DRAMA

The Affair, 9pm, Sky Atlantic

UNCOMFORTA­BLE new U.S. drama — which already has a Golden Globe to its name — that presents the story of an affair through the eyes of a man (Dominic West) and a woman (Ruth Wilson, pictured with West), both of whom are looking for a way out of their lives. The situation seems cut and dried when you see it from his perspectiv­e, but, when the view shifts to her, the difference­s between their memories suggest that something else is going on.

COMEDY SERIES Murder In Successvil­le, 10pm,p, BBC3

GREG JAMES is the celebrity sleuth for one of the best episodes of this high-velocity comedy whodunit. Among the suspects are the Reverend Gary Barlow (Colin Hoult), casino kingpin Justin Bieber (Cariad Lloyd) and strip club owner Mary Berry (a commanding Frances Barber). A tight, joke-rich episode that could stand to run longer than half an hour, and includes some remarkable ‘urban’ singing from Greg James.

AT THE start of its new, third season, this U.S. primetime soap is packed with emotional dilemmas. Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) is lost in man-related misery and chops off her hair, then is reminded about her big movie audition — while Rayna (Connie Britton) has to decide between two men.
