MYSTERY THRILLER

Wayward Pines, 9pm, Fox

IN KEEPING with the trilogy of novels on which it is based, this fantasy starring an ageless Matt Dillon has whipped out its twists at a pretty pace over its ten-episode run. Resolving midway what could have been an interminab­le mystery has kept viewers unfamiliar with Blake Crouch’s books on their toes, and this finale offers more surprises.

IN THE final episode of this fun,fun often edgy comedy, the Hoff considers a role in panto with ‘Britain’s Ryan Gosling’ (Christophe­r Biggins). But thanks to driver Terry (Asim Chaudhry, pictured with David Hasselhoff), events quickly spiral into outrageous, chaotic farce.

BUDDY-COP MOVIE

IT FAILED to impress the critics, but this has now become something of a minor cult hit. Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell are the odd-couple cops who are forced to team up when they are framed for murder and thrown in the slammer.

SPOOF MINISERIES SERIES

The Spoils Before Dying, 10.30pm, Fox

THIS starry miniseries pastiche, a followup to The Spoils Of Babylon (whichh spoofed the epic American family saga) saga), features Michael K. Williams as Rock Banyon, a jazz musician accused of murder. Highlights of this opening episode are the songs performed by Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig (pictured with Williams).
