A decade of your adult life watching TV
THE average Briton spends nearly a decade of their adult lives with their eyes fixed on the television, according to figures that reveal just how addicted we have become to the goggle-box.
A typical adult now watches around 24 hours of television a week. However, one in 14 are even more devoted, spending more than 40 hours a week glued to their screen.
That would appear to leave little waking time for much else, although the survey from catch-up service UKTVPlay found that many watch television as they go about other tasks.
Nearly a fifth admitted to watching television while they are at work, while more than eight in ten Britons said they eat in front of the TV.
