A PERFECT SUMMER DAY

The summer breeze blew gently, Through the buttercups and docks, Bestowing soft caresses On the dandelion clocks. The fluffy tufts upon them, Coaxed by such a gentle breeze, Broke free and floated upwards, With a graceful dancer’s ease. Bright golden threads of sunshine, Wove through wispy clouds of gauze. The dandelion fairies Settled as the breeze gave pause. Long grass conversed in whispers, As the gentle wind resumed. Flowers basked in sunlight, ’Til the air was sweet perfumed. Stalks of tall green barley, Swayed a mesmerising dance. Sweet night scented jasmine, Waited, keen to seize its chance. As sunshine turned to moonlight, Stars shone bright as if to say, Behold the perfect ending To a perfect summer day.
