More misery for McIlroy

RORY McILROY is looking increasingly unlikely to be able to defend his US PGA title next month after withdrawing from next week’s Bridgestone Invitational. McIlroy ruptured ligaments in his left ankle while playing football more than three weeks ago and missed the defence of his Open title at St Andrews. Medical experts suggested the Northern Irishman, 26, could be out for at least three months.
