LABOUR PAINS

- Norman J. Myson, Burnham on Crouch, Essex.

Although I’m enjoying Labour’s pains, It’s a shame for a party, once great. Bad choices and unworkable policies Have left them in a hell of a state. Neil Kinnock was embarrassment enough, Hypocrisy oozed from his blood. Then they yearned to be rescued by Blair, But ended up ground in the mud. As the trade unions controlled once again, Ed Miliband rose to the top. It was hard for the country to truly believe He was the cream of the crop. As expected, he proved to be a disaster, As they suffered a crushing defeat. With his strings being pulled by the unions, He was very easy to beat. So once again they’re in complete disarray, As a new leader, they seek. But those candidates who’ve come forward Also appear so shallow and weak. With exception, for just one particular man, Who’s emerged from the Far Left. He’s some way ahead, but if he takes charge, It would leave the party bereft. It’s entirely entertaining for us on the outside, As Labour rip each other apart. But a disgrace for that hardworking member, Who has Labour deep in his heart. By the time the new leader has been selected, Some will be battered and bruised. But while Labour’s backbiting still carries on We’ll continue to be amused.
