Double standards

- CAROL WILSON, Heswall, Wirral.

My SoN lives and works in Shanghai. Last year he married a Chinese girl, and they are coming to Britain next month for a short holiday.

She has had to pay £300 for a visitor’s visa and will not be allowed to live here. While they’re in Europe, they also plan to visit Italy and Spain, but because she is married to an EU national, there are no visa charges for her for these countries. Apparently the UK isn’t part of this agreement.

This is not only ludicrous, it is also grossly unfair, particularly when immigrants to Britain are granted residence and given housing and cash benefits as well.
